Project Results & Knowledge Graphs

These webinars were held from September 2023 to February 2024. We held monthly free online webinars on the first Wednesday of each month. We created data visualizations known as knowledge graphs as a way of reaching out to GLAM to explain how wikidata editing is done and how these concepts can be used as a tool to increase online discoverability:

  • Uninvited, Canadian Women Artists in the Modern Moment
  • Sobey Art Award Winners
  • Embracing Wikidata for SEO Discoverability Tool Kit for Visual Artists and Art Galleries
  • Emily Carr, examples of online collections and Wiki Commons uploads
  • Métis artists who were born in Canada.

One of the key takeaways our project team had from the second series was how challenging it is to design the best online peer experiences.

We wanted to create an environment for GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) to link subject matter experts with the larger concepts of online learning, education, outreach to new communities with linked open data and increased online discoverability.

Some attendees were interested in casual and informative discussions in our break out groups.

Others were curious to find out what they should know or what they were curious about.

Next Steps

We are reviewing the results and outcome of Series 2 to plan what form our future peer online sessions should take.
