Thanks to the great efforts of the sponsors, staff and volunteers, the Canadian Museum Association was able to gather colleagues this spring at their first national conference to be held on-site in four years. Sessions were offered online as well. The program featured top museum leaders from across Canada

Increasingly, many of us are acknowledging new business models should focus on revenue development (fundraising, partnerships and social enterprise).

It was important to hear from First Nations and Metis museum professionals during this conference. Key speakers included:

I attended an inspiring presentation by Karl Dockstader at the Landscape of Nations, Six Nations and Native Allies Commemorative Memorial located at Queenston Heights, Niagara Parks Commission. Karl’s presentation was a major highlight of the Indigenous Niagara Heritage and Legacy Tour held as a pre-conference tour at the CMA National Conference.
